Overview

About Konch

Konch transcribes audio, video and YouTube links, translates transcripts into 75-plus languages, and on its Precision tier puts a human reviewer over the machine output to return a certified transcript within 24 to 48 hours. KonchMate joins meetings and takes notes, and there is voice-over and dubbing alongside. Konch Inc. was started in 2018 by Ankit Bhayani, runs a US support line, and reports over 10 million minutes transcribed with Princeton, LSE and NYU among its users. A free trial with a file-size cap leads into Basic at $14 a month for 120 minutes and Pro at $30 for 300, or pay-as-you-go credits at $10 per 1,000 - roughly 13 cents a transcribed minute.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Konch

high confidence

Konch's differentiator is that human certification is a tier of the same product rather than a separate vendor you have to go find, and unlimited translation into 75 languages comes with every paid plan. The constraint is the minute allowance: $14 buys two hours, so anyone with real volume ends up on pay-as-you-go at about 13 cents a minute.

Pros

  • Human-certified transcripts are a tier of the same product, not a separate vendor
  • Unlimited transcript translation into 75 languages on every paid plan
  • A developer API at developer.konch.ai for pipeline use
  • Pay-as-you-go credits exist alongside subscriptions, so occasional jobs are not forced onto a plan

Cons

  • 120 minutes on the $14 plan is low next to unlimited-hour competitors
  • The company's country is never stated on the site; only a US phone number gives it away
  • Discount codes are plastered across the site, which makes the list price hard to trust
  • Human certification adds a 24-48 hour wait, so it is not for same-day turnarounds

Best for

  • Researchers and legal users who need a certified, human-checked transcript
  • Multilingual work where the transcript must also be translated
  • Occasional users who prefer non-expiring credits to a subscription

Not for

  • High-volume podcast or media teams, where minute caps get expensive fast
  • Buyers who need a named company address and jurisdiction on the site

Watch out: The minute allowance is the real constraint - at $14 for 120 minutes two long interviews exhaust the plan, and overflow lands on pay-as-you-go at roughly $0.13 a minute.
