Parlo is a macOS app that puts three voice features in one place: dictation in any app by holding a key, meeting detection with local recording and transcription, and spoken commands (still in alpha) that open apps, set reminders, search files, Apple Notes, Mail and the calendar, and ask before anything destructive. Speech recognition runs on the Mac and audio never leaves it; meeting notes are written by Parlo Cloud from the transcript text (included in the plan), by an on-device model that works offline, or with the user's own Anthropic or OpenAI-compatible key. Notes can be shared to iCloud, Google Drive or a network folder. It requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon.

Pros & cons of Parlo
Parlo's pitch is voice control whose audio never leaves your Mac, and combining dictation, meeting notes, and OS commands into one app is a genuinely different bundle than single-purpose dictation tools. It is still pre-1.0 software, with voice commands labelled alpha, and its hardware floor (Apple Silicon, macOS 15+) shuts out a lot of otherwise-willing users.
