Similarity report and AI-text detection in one submission, wired into the usual school LMS platforms
PlagiarismCheck.org has run a similarity checker since 2015 and has bolted an AI-writing detector, TraceGPT, onto the same submission. One upload returns both a source-match report and a sentence-level estimate of which passages read as machine-written, scored on perplexity and burstiness. Documents of up to about 97 pages are accepted and images can be run through OCR first. The buyer is mostly education: there are plugins for Canvas, Moodle, Google Classroom, Schoology, Brightspace, Blackboard and Populi, a Google Docs add-on, a Chrome extension and an API for business use. Institutional plans are quote-only; individuals get published subscription prices and there is no free AI check.
The AI-detector product page quotes individual plans from $2.08 a month; the /pricing page itself only exposes Advanced and Pro institutional tiers as 'request quote', so that entry figure comes from the product page and not from a live plan card. No free AI check is offered.
Use tool ↗The selling point is that one submission answers both questions a teacher has — was this copied, and was this generated — instead of running two services. Ten years of operation and real LMS plugins put it ahead of the many single-page detectors that appeared in 2023. Treat the accuracy claim with the scepticism every AI detector deserves: the underlying signals are statistical and non-native writers get flagged disproportionately across this whole category.
Watch out: A detector score is a probability, not proof of authorship; several universities have retreated from acting on these numbers unsupported.
