Use tool ↗About NeuralBox
NeuralBox is a photo shoebox for the pictures you take as notes rather than as memories: receipts, screenshots, labels, documents, product boxes. It ingests them from the camera, the gallery, an automatic screenshot import or a lock-screen widget, then indexes them with OCR and semantic search so you find things by describing them instead of foldering them. It can also surface visually similar images by colour, texture and shape. It comes from NeuralStudio, the team behind the NeuralCam camera apps. Free covers search, OCR and screenshot import; NeuralBox Plus is $5.99 a month for document scanning, 50 GB of cloud storage, multi-device sync and no share watermark.

Pros & cons of NeuralBox
A narrow, well-aimed app: the problem it solves is the thousand screenshots you will never label, and semantic plus OCR search is the right answer to that. The free tier is generous enough to be genuinely usable, which is rare. iOS only, and the paid tier is really about cloud storage and sync rather than better search.
Pros
- Semantic search plus OCR, so both 'blue receipt' and an exact printed word work
- Automatic screenshot import and a lock screen widget cut capture friction
- Core search is free with no watermark on the search itself
- Visual similarity browsing by colour, texture and shape
Cons
- iOS only — no Android, web or desktop client
- Multi-device sync and cloud storage are paywalled at $5.99/month
- Shared images carry a watermark on the free tier
- The vendor publishes no company country or legal entity
Best for
- people who screenshot everything and find nothing
- keeping receipts and warranty labels findable
- iPhone-only workflows
Not for
- Android or desktop users
- teams needing shared or collaborative libraries
Watch out: Document scanning is a Plus feature, not part of the free capture set.
