Overview

About Remini

Remini takes blurry, compressed or damaged photos and rebuilds them: face enhancement, denoising, colorization of old shots, background cleanup and video upscaling to 2x. It is a consumer product from Bending Spoons subsidiary AI Creativity S.r.l. in Milan, distributed as iOS and Android apps plus a web version, and reports around 100M monthly users. A free ad-supported tier hands out limited daily enhancements; unlimited use is sold as weekly or monthly subscriptions inside the apps rather than on a public pricing page.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Remini

medium confidence

One of the strongest one-tap fixes for faces and old family photos, which is why its user numbers are so large. The catch is pricing structure: weekly auto-renewing subscriptions sold in-app with no public price list, which makes casual use expensive if you forget to cancel.

Pros

Face reconstruction quality is the product's core strength
Runs on web, iOS and Android with the same account
Free tier exists for occasional single-photo jobs
Handles video enhancement, not just stills

Cons

Weekly subscription framing obscures the real annual cost
Prices differ by region and platform and are only visible at checkout
Aggressive enhancement can invent facial detail, a known trait of face-restoration models

Best for

Restoring old or damaged family photos
Sharpening low-resolution phone shots before printing
Quick face-focused enhancement without learning an editor

Not for

Photographers wanting controllable, artifact-free upscaling parameters
Anyone needing predictable flat annual pricing on a public page

Watch out: Subscriptions auto-renew weekly on mobile; cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Enhanced faces are AI reconstructions, so treat outputs as plausible rather than faithful for identification or archival use.
