What our research says

Klaviyo

The default marketing stack for Shopify-scale e-commerce because its data model is built around customer events rather than lists, so predictive fields and AI-built segments actually have something to work with. The free tier is a sandbox, the real cost climbs with active profiles, and once SMS, Composer usage and service modules are switched on the invoice has several meters, not one.

Pros

  • Pricing by active profiles with a real free tier (250 profiles, 500 sends) and no card
  • Predictive churn, lifetime value and next-order date per profile built in
  • Composer builds and audits flows and campaigns from natural-language prompts
  • Public REST API with maintained SDKs in Python, PHP, Ruby and more
  • Email, SMS/MMS, push and a helpdesk module share one customer profile

Cons

  • Costs step up with every active-profile band; the $20 entry price covers only 251–500 profiles
  • SMS, Composer usage and support packages are separate meters on top of the plan
  • The pricing page shows the entry bands and leaves larger bands to a calculator
  • The platform has widened into service and analytics, adding modules a small brand will not use

tinyAlbert

tinyAlbert packages the standard Shopify email-flow playbook — cart recovery, welcome, win-back — behind AI-drafted copy and a usage-based price that undercuts flat monthly email platforms at small list sizes. The tradeoff is that it only exists inside Shopify, and per-100-customer billing means cost is unpredictable as a store's list grows rather than fixed in advance.

Pros

  • Five-plus pre-built flow types (cart, welcome, browse abandonment, win-back, reviews) ready to switch on
  • AI-drafted copy and segmentation rather than blank-template building
  • Usage-based pricing starts very low for small stores
  • 4.9-star Shopify App Store rating with a stated 4,000+ install base

Cons

  • Shopify-only — not usable outside that platform
  • Per-100-customer billing makes total monthly cost hard to predict as a list grows
  • tinyCo's country/headquarters is not disclosed

Which one fits

Choose Klaviyo if you need

  • E-commerce brands on Shopify, WooCommerce or similar with real order data to segment on
  • Teams that want churn, lifetime-value and next-order predictions without a data scientist
  • Marketers who want flows and campaigns drafted from a prompt and audited by the same assistant

Choose tinyAlbert if you need

  • small Shopify stores wanting automated flows without hand-writing each email
  • merchants who want usage-based pricing instead of a flat monthly fee
  • stores that haven't set up abandoned-cart or welcome flows yet
