IMG2HTML vs v0

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. IMG2HTML starts at $1.99, v0 at $30. Only v0 has a free tier. Both ship a public API.

What our research says

IMG2HTML

IMG2HTML does one narrow job and prices it per image, which suits occasional conversions better than a flat subscription. Framework export and the in-browser editor make the output usable rather than a starting sketch, and it is one of few tools here with a named EU company behind it. The catch is that the cheap tiers are tiny — $1.99 buys three images — and the output still needs a developer's pass before it ships.

Pros

  • Exports HTML/CSS, Tailwind, React, Vue and Angular from the same image
  • OCR preserves text and styling instead of rasterising it
  • Chrome extension captures any on-screen region directly
  • API and browser editor cover batch work and post-conversion fixes

Cons

  • Cheapest paid tier is 3 credits, enough only to sample the output
  • Credits are consumed per image regardless of result quality
  • No permanent free tier, only a 3-day trial
  • Generated markup still needs a developer pass before shipping

v0

The strongest choice when the target stack is Next.js on Vercel, since generation, preview and deployment live in one loop and the Platform API lets you embed the whole builder. Costs are credit-metered per token, so long agentic sessions eat the included allowance fast, and output is opinionated toward Vercel's stack.

Pros

  • Generates deployable full-stack code, not static mockups
  • Free tier plus daily login credits support light ongoing use
  • Documented Platform API and SDK for programmatic generation
  • Design Mode and screenshot-to-UI shortcuts help non-coders

Cons

  • Credit consumption is hard to predict on bigger builds
  • Training opt-out is default only on Business and Enterprise tiers
  • Output leans on Vercel deployment and ecosystem conventions

Which one fits

Choose IMG2HTML if you need

  • developers rebuilding a page they only have a screenshot of
  • front-end work that starts from a static mockup rather than a Figma file
  • quick Tailwind or React scaffolds from a reference design

Choose v0 if you need

  • Founders and PMs producing working MVPs and internal tools from prompts
  • Frontend engineers scaffolding shadcn/Tailwind components
  • Developers embedding text-to-app generation via the Platform API
