No public price: the former pricing page now redirects to the home page, VoiceEQ is by access request and the Expression Measurement API is in limited release through sales. The self-serve TTS and EVI plans end with those APIs on 13 November 2026.
Use tool ↗About Hume AI
Hume AI now sells evaluation infrastructure for voice AI rather than voices. Its VoiceEQ platform turns a team's conversation data into test suites, stress-tests voice models and agents under realistic accents, noise and interruptions, and combines automated scoring with ratings from trained human raters. Underneath sit Expression APIs that score vocal and facial expression from audio and video, an audio data pipeline and a human-feedback service, plus a public Real-World VoiceEQ leaderboard. The Octave text-to-speech and EVI speech-to-speech APIs are being shut down on 13 November 2026, and the remaining products are sold through a sales conversation.

Pros & cons of Hume AI
Hume AI has turned from a voice-model vendor into an evaluation lab for other people's voice AI, and its decade of emotion research makes the expression scoring and human-rater pipeline unusual in that market. It fits labs and companies shipping voice agents that need to know how they sound, not developers looking for a text-to-speech API. Anyone still on Octave TTS or EVI has until 13 November 2026 to migrate, after which account data is deleted.
Pros
- Expression scoring across hundreds of vocal dimensions in 50+ languages
- Combines automated metrics with trained human raters in one evaluation loop
- Public VoiceEQ leaderboard and published methodology
- Backed by more than ten years of emotion-science research
Cons
- Octave TTS and EVI APIs end on 13 November 2026
- No public pricing; every product goes through sales or an access request
- Expression Measurement API is in limited release
Best for
- Voice AI labs comparing model checkpoints on expression, timing and naturalness
- Companies deploying voice agents that need structured human and automated evaluation
- Researchers who need vocal or facial expression scores at scale
Not for
- Developers looking for a text-to-speech or speech-to-speech API, since both are being retired
- Small teams wanting self-serve pricing and instant signup
Watch out: If you build on Hume's TTS or EVI, access ends on 13 November 2026 and account data is permanently deleted afterwards; export voices and logs and move to another provider before then.
