Gistly is a browser extension that injects a summary widget into the YouTube page itself. It reads the transcript, condenses it into a TL;DR with key insights, and breaks the video into timestamped sections you can click to jump straight to a moment; it will also produce a full transcript or a blog-post draft from the same source, across more than 40 languages. Summaries can be shared by link. It is published by Dumpling Software, whose footer carries a 2024 copyright and no address. There is no reachable price list — the /pricing path returns 404 and every call to action links directly into a checkout — so the paid tier's cost is not something we could read.

Use tool ↗It does one job well: the summary appears next to the player rather than in another tab, and the timestamps actually move the video. The problem is commercial opacity — you cannot see what the paid tier costs without entering a checkout flow, which is a poor way to ask for a card.
Watch out: Every purchase button on the site is a checkout link rather than a pricing page, so do not click through expecting to compare plans first.
