Gemini Notebook is Google's source-grounded research workspace. You upload PDFs, Docs, Slides, web pages, YouTube links or pasted text, then ask questions and get answers that cite the exact passage they came from, plus derived artifacts like study guides, mind maps, timelines and the Audio Overview podcast format. Google renamed it from NotebookLM in July 2026 and gave every notebook a sandboxed cloud machine that can write and run code over your sources. It runs in a browser and in the Gemini mobile apps; the base tier is free with a Google account, while larger notebooks and wider model access come with paid Google AI plans.

Watch out: The name changed on 16 July 2026 — notebooklm.google now 301-redirects to notebook.google, so older bookmarks, tutorials and shared links describe NotebookLM branding that no longer exists.
