The code is free under Apache-2.0 and the hosted demo requires only a sign-in. Self-hosting needs your own E2B account for sandboxes, which has its own pricing, plus a key for each LLM provider you use.
Use tool βAbout Fragments
Fragments is an Apache-2.0 reference app from E2B that works like Claude Artifacts or v0: you describe an app, a model writes the code, and it runs live inside an E2B cloud sandbox next to the chat. It supports a Python interpreter, Next.js, Vue, Streamlit and Gradio, can install npm and pip packages, and works with providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Groq and Ollama. A hosted demo exists, but the main use is cloning the repository to build your own AI app generator. You supply an E2B key and an LLM key.

Pros & cons of Fragments
Best treated as a starter kit rather than a finished product: it shows how to build a chat-to-app builder with sandboxed execution, and gives you a working base to fork. Skip it if you just want a polished hosted app builder.
Pros
- Apache-2.0 license with an active public repository
- Runs generated Python, Next.js, Vue, Streamlit and Gradio apps in isolation
- Works with many model providers, including local Ollama
- Easy to add your own stacks and models
Cons
- Requires an E2B account and an LLM key to run anywhere
- Hosted demo is a showcase, not a supported service
- No dedicated pricing or support of its own
Best for
- Developers who want to build their own Artifacts-style app generator
- Teams prototyping AI code execution inside isolated sandboxes
- Anyone who wants to try several LLM providers behind one code-gen UI
Not for
- Non-technical users who want a managed vibe-coding service
- Teams that need production support or an SLA
Watch out: Running it yourself means paying for E2B sandbox time and LLM tokens separately, so a public deployment can rack up usage fast unless you add rate limits.
