What our research says

Fireflies.ai

Unlimited transcription on the free tier is the hook and it is genuinely unlimited — the meter sits on storage and AI credits, which is where any team of real size ends up on a paid seat.

Pros

  • Transcription minutes are unlimited on every tier, including Free
  • API access is not paywalled — it starts on the free plan
  • Pro at $10/seat undercuts most rival meeting assistants
  • Storage becomes unlimited from the $19 Business tier

Cons

  • Monthly billing is about 1.8x the annual rate on Pro and 1.5x on Business
  • AI credits, not transcription, are the real ration — 20 a month on both Free and Pro
  • Free storage is 400 minutes for the entire team, not per person
  • Enterprise is annual-only at $39/seat

Krisp

Krisp is worth paying for if you take calls from places you cannot control, because it fixes the audio at the driver level rather than inside one app. The meeting-notes half is competent but not why you buy it.

Pros

  • Works as a virtual device beneath any app, so it is not tied to Zoom or Teams
  • Bidirectional: it also strips noise from the people you are listening to
  • A perpetual free tier still exists rather than the 7-day trial the pricing page pushes
  • On-device private transcription is available on Enterprise for regulated buyers

Cons

  • The pricing page foregrounds a 7-day trial and buries the free plan, which reads as a downgrade
  • Accent conversion is capped by hours per day even on paid tiers
  • Month-to-month costs double the annual rate at every tier
  • Call Center AI carries a 40-seat minimum, so it is closed to small teams
