What our research says

CustomGPT.ai

A packaged retrieval stack for teams that want a grounded chatbot without assembling their own; the connector breadth and compliance paperwork are what the price buys. At $99/month against a four-figure query cap, the cost per answer is high until volume justifies it.

Pros

  • Answers are constrained to ingested content, which materially cuts invented answers versus open chat
  • 100+ ingestion connectors and a very wide file-format list mean less pre-processing work
  • API supports programmatic agent creation, which suits agency resale
  • SOC 2 Type II certification is unusual at this price point

Cons

  • Query allowance is the real ceiling and it is low relative to the price
  • The step from Standard to Premium is five times the cost with nothing in between
  • Answer quality still depends entirely on how clean and current your source content is
  • No free plan; evaluation is limited to a trial

FastBots

FastBots is the pragmatic end of the bot-builder market: crawl a site, get a working bot, drop it on six messaging channels. Letting you pick the underlying model across three vendors is genuinely useful and not common at this price. The message-credit ceilings are the thing to size carefully, because 2,000 credits disappears fast on a busy site and the overflow add-ons are priced per block.

Pros

  • Choose the underlying model across OpenAI, Anthropic and Google rather than being locked to one
  • One bot serves web, WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram, Slack and email
  • Automatic re-crawling and retraining keeps the bot current as the source site changes
  • Free tier exists, human handover is supported, and 7,000+ apps connect via Zapier and Make

Cons

  • Advertised prices assume annual billing — month-to-month Essential is $39, not $33
  • Message credits are the real constraint — 2,000/month on the $33 tier goes quickly
  • Removing FastBots branding is a $29/month add-on, nearly doubling the entry plan
  • No public API surfaced on the pricing page; integrations route through Zapier or Make
