Overview

About CrowdStrike Charlotte AI

Charlotte AI is the AI analyst layer of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, now built as a set of agents rather than a chat box: it triages first-party detections with a verdict, confidence score and recommendation, dispatches parallel investigations across endpoint, identity, cloud and network data, explains command lines and exposures, writes queries and drafts incident reports. Charlotte Agentic SOAR and AgentWorks let a security team compose workflows and custom agents without code, with approval gates before anything acts. It exists only inside Falcon: there is no standalone product, and value depends on which Falcon modules feed it telemetry.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of CrowdStrike Charlotte AI

medium confidence

If your SOC already runs on Falcon, Charlotte AI is the obvious first AI analyst to switch on: it is trained against the decisions of CrowdStrike's own managed detection team, it starts free with a monthly credit allowance, and the agentic triage removes the dullest tier-one work. If you are not a Falcon customer it is irrelevant, because there is nothing to buy on its own, and the credit model means heavy use becomes a line item you negotiate rather than a price you read.

Pros

  • Agentic triage claims over 98% agreement with CrowdStrike's managed detection analysts on first-party detections
  • Investigations fan out across endpoint, identity, cloud and network in parallel instead of one query at a time
  • No-code agent and workflow builders (AgentWorks, Agentic SOAR) with human approval gates
  • Free to enable for qualifying customers with 50 AI credits a month, so a pilot costs nothing up front

Cons

  • Locked to the Falcon platform; no standalone licence or third-party telemetry
  • Credit-metered beyond the free allowance, with the credit price not published
  • Headline savings (70% less effort, 90% faster response) are customer anecdotes on the vendor page, not independent tests
  • Accuracy figures cover CrowdStrike's own detections; third-party alerts routed through Falcon are not in that number

Best for

  • Falcon customers with a tier-one alert queue that overwhelms a small team
  • SOCs that want to build approval-gated response workflows without a separate SOAR product
  • Security leaders who need plain-language investigation summaries for executives

Not for

  • Organisations on another EDR or SIEM — Charlotte AI only reads Falcon data
  • Teams that need a published price before a pilot, since everything beyond the free credits is sales-quoted

Watch out: The 50 free AI credits a month are an opt-in for qualifying customers; once a team leans on agentic triage the overage becomes part of the Falcon renewal negotiation, so ask for the credit rate before rolling it out widely.
