Neither the Guardrail page nor the iDox.ai store publishes a Guardrail price: you download a trial or contact sales. The figures in the store ($10 one-month Value Pack, $39/month Starter, $89/month Premium) belong to the separate redaction suite, not to Guardrail.
Use tool ↗About iDox.ai Guardrail
Guardrail is the AI-governance product from iDox.ai, a Fremont, California company better known for document redaction. It installs on the endpoint and watches text and file sharing as it happens, catching personal or regulated data before it reaches an AI tool, flagging prompt-injection attempts and risky prompts, and allowing or denying specific AI agents by policy. Detection runs on-device rather than by routing traffic through a vendor cloud. It ships in an Individual edition for small teams and an Enterprise edition with central governance, and today runs on Windows only, with macOS and mobile listed as coming.

Pros & cons of iDox.ai Guardrail
Guardrail sits at the one place most AI policies leak — the moment an employee pastes a customer record into a chat box — and doing the detection on-device avoids shipping the very data you are trying to protect. The problem is coverage and disclosure: Windows only today, and no published price for either edition.
Pros
- Inspects prompts and document sharing at the endpoint, before data reaches the AI tool
- Detection runs on-device instead of routing content through a vendor cloud
- Flags prompt injection and risky prompts, not just plain PII patterns
- Allow/deny control over which AI agents may run, with an Enterprise edition for central policy
Cons
- Windows only; macOS and mobile are promised but unshipped
- No price published for either edition — sales contact required
- The vendor's public track record is in document redaction, so the governance product is the newer line
Best for
- Regulated teams that must prove employees are not pasting PII into public AI tools
- Windows-standardised organisations wanting endpoint enforcement rather than a network proxy
- Security teams that need an allow/deny list for AI agents
Not for
- Mac or mobile fleets, which are not supported yet
- Buyers who need a published price or self-serve purchase
Watch out: The pricing in the iDox.ai store is for the redaction suite. Do not read $39/month as a Guardrail price — Guardrail is quoted separately.
