What our research says

Cohesive

A 2023-era template-and-editor product that is still online but shows no sign of being worked on. At $25 per editor it is priced against Copy.ai and Writesonic while shipping older models, so there is no reason to choose it today.

Pros

  • Template library is broad and organised by job, which lowers the blank-page problem
  • Real-time collaborative editing is unusual at this price point
  • Images and voice generation live in the same editor as the text

Cons

  • Pricing page still advertises GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 as the model tiers, two model generations behind
  • Blog last published in August 2024 and terms unchanged since September 2023
  • Subpages redirect to plain HTTP rather than HTTPS
  • Per-editor pricing gets expensive for a team while capping template runs at 150 a month

Writesonic

This is not the AI copywriter the catalogs still describe — it is a GEO tracking suite priced like one, and at $79 to start you are paying enterprise-monitoring money for a three-engine view of your own brand.

Pros

  • Daily prompt and answer tracking is the core of the product, not a bolt-on dashboard
  • Site audits, content generation and publishing sit in the same tool as the monitoring
  • A genuine free tier still exists, with no card required

Cons

  • Starter watches three engines out of ten; the interesting ones are all Enterprise
  • Month-to-month costs about 25% more than the advertised annual rate
  • The old writing-tool positioning is gone, so most third-party reviews describe a different product
  • Prompt and article caps are daily and monthly, so a burst of work stalls until the counter resets

Which one fits

Choose Cohesive if you need

  • Someone who specifically wants a template-picker workflow rather than an open chat box
  • Small teams that want text, images and voiceover in one document surface

Choose Writesonic if you need

  • Brands that already know they are losing citations inside ChatGPT and want it measured
  • Agencies reporting AI-answer share of voice to clients month over month
  • Teams that want prompt tracking and article production billed on one invoice
