What our research says

Chattee

Chattee's differentiator is not the generation quality — everyone claims that — but that you can export the code and walk away, and that a German GmbH is on the hook for the data. Roles and approval workflows out of the box put it closer to internal-tool builders than to landing-page generators. The credit ceiling on the entry plan is low enough that serious iteration pushes you to Pro fast.

Pros

  • Generates database, authentication, roles and approval workflows, not just a UI
  • Code export with self-hosting is supported, so the generated app is not trapped in the platform
  • Direct code editing for developers alongside the prompt loop
  • Custom domains and SSL from the Pro tier, white-labelling for agencies

Cons

  • No free tier — evaluation is a time-limited trial
  • 100 build credits on Lite goes quickly, since each rebuild spends credits
  • Charged in euros, so the dollar cost moves with the exchange rate
  • No public API and the company publishes little beyond the legal notice

Lovable

The cleanest prompt-to-app experience for someone who cannot write React, and GitHub sync means you are not locked in — but 100 credits a month is less runway than it sounds once the app gets real.

Pros

  • Live preview after each change keeps iteration legible to non-developers
  • GitHub sync and Supabase mean the output is real, portable code
  • The free tier is enough to find out whether the idea works
  • Per-action credit costs are published, so estimating is possible

Cons

  • Free tier caps at 30 credits a month regardless of the daily grant
  • Debugging a bad generation can cost more credits than the original build
  • Opinionated stack — React front end, Supabase back end, little room to differ
  • No API for driving builds programmatically

Which one fits

Choose Chattee if you need

  • Internal tools that need roles, approvals and a database rather than a static page
  • EU teams that need a German data-protection story on the hosting
  • Agencies white-labelling small client apps

Choose Lovable if you need

  • Founders and designers shipping a working prototype without a developer
  • Anyone who wants generated code exported to GitHub rather than held hostage
  • Small internal tools needing authentication and a database on day one
