AppIsUp vs Lovable

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. Lovable publishes a starting price ($25); AppIsUp does not. Only Lovable has a free tier.

What our research says

AppIsUp

AppIsUp's pitch is removing the server-setup step from AI-assisted coding: Claude Code sits inside an always-on cloud workspace that deploys automatically with SSL already configured. The site itself renders almost nothing without JavaScript and publishes no pricing, so most of what's verifiable here comes from third-party write-ups rather than the vendor directly.

Pros

  • Claude Code is built into the workspace rather than a separate install
  • Deployment, including SSL setup, happens automatically
  • Marketed toward several concrete audiences: freelancers, startups, and education

Cons

  • No pricing information published anywhere, even after multiple attempts to load the site
  • No founder names or company location disclosed
  • The site is a JavaScript-heavy app that returns almost no content without running scripts, which limited direct verification

Lovable

The cleanest prompt-to-app experience for someone who cannot write React, and GitHub sync means you are not locked in — but 100 credits a month is less runway than it sounds once the app gets real.

Pros

  • Live preview after each change keeps iteration legible to non-developers
  • GitHub sync and Supabase mean the output is real, portable code
  • The free tier is enough to find out whether the idea works
  • Per-action credit costs are published, so estimating is possible

Cons

  • Free tier caps at 30 credits a month regardless of the daily grant
  • Debugging a bad generation can cost more credits than the original build
  • Opinionated stack — React front end, Supabase back end, little room to differ
  • No API for driving builds programmatically

Which one fits

Choose AppIsUp if you need

  • Freelance developers who don't want to manage their own hosting
  • Small teams building an MVP with an AI coding assistant
  • Anyone using Claude Code who wants deployment handled automatically

Choose Lovable if you need

  • Founders and designers shipping a working prototype without a developer
  • Anyone who wants generated code exported to GitHub rather than held hostage
  • Small internal tools needing authentication and a database on day one
