What our research says

CatDoes

One of the few prompt-to-app tools that goes past a web preview and actually produces React Native binaries you can put in front of an app store reviewer. The credit meter is the thing to watch, because a stubborn feature can burn a chunk of the month in retries. Nothing on the site says who is behind it, which is a real consideration if the app matters commercially.

Pros

  • Builds React Native Expo apps for iOS and Android, not only web pages
  • Backend pieces — database, auth, storage, edge functions, realtime — come pre-wired
  • Pro tier and above allow two-way GitHub sync and full code export
  • Free tier with 25 credits is enough to judge the output before paying

Cons

  • Credits, not seats, decide how much you get done, and debug loops eat them
  • Free and Core plans cannot deploy to iOS or Android at all
  • No company name, country or founding year is published anywhere on the site
  • Cheap tiers cap you at one or two projects and a small checkpoint history

Lovable

The cleanest prompt-to-app experience for someone who cannot write React, and GitHub sync means you are not locked in — but 100 credits a month is less runway than it sounds once the app gets real.

Pros

  • Live preview after each change keeps iteration legible to non-developers
  • GitHub sync and Supabase mean the output is real, portable code
  • The free tier is enough to find out whether the idea works
  • Per-action credit costs are published, so estimating is possible

Cons

  • Free tier caps at 30 credits a month regardless of the daily grant
  • Debugging a bad generation can cost more credits than the original build
  • Opinionated stack — React front end, Supabase back end, little room to differ
  • No API for driving builds programmatically

Which one fits

Choose CatDoes if you need

  • Founders prototyping a mobile app without hiring a developer
  • Teams that need iOS and Android from the same written brief
  • People who want the generated code exported to their own GitHub

Choose Lovable if you need

  • Founders and designers shipping a working prototype without a developer
  • Anyone who wants generated code exported to GitHub rather than held hostage
  • Small internal tools needing authentication and a database on day one
