What our research says

Bland AI

Bland quotes one per-minute rate that already includes the language model, transcription and voice, and publishes its compliance certifications, which makes cost modelling simpler than on platforms that pass through several vendor bills. Telephony is still a separate line, and the cheap entry rate comes with tight call caps, so real call-centre volume moves you onto the $299 monthly Build fee or an enterprise contract.

Pros

  • Per-minute rate covers model, transcription and voice with no token charges
  • Documented REST API with batch dispatch and in-call tools
  • SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA with a BAA, GDPR and PCI DSS compliance stated
  • Free start credits and an inbound number without a card
  • Bring-your-own Twilio or SIP trunk is supported and waives transfer fees

Cons

  • Concurrency, daily caps, voices and many call features are gated by tier
  • Build adds a $299 monthly fee on top of minutes, and the mid-size Scale tier has been dropped
  • Telephony is billed on top of the per-minute AI rate
  • A closed in-house stack means less choice of underlying models

ZenCall

For a trade business losing jobs to voicemail, $29 a month to have every call answered, qualified and written into ServiceTitan is easy arithmetic. Setup is a text prompt rather than a flow builder, which is fast but limits control. The plans are thin on minutes — 100 a month on Essentials — so the real bill depends on the $0.09 overage rate.

Pros

  • Dedicated local number, smart routing and AI call summaries on the entry plan
  • Prompt-driven agent setup with emergency-versus-routine triage
  • Syncs bookings into ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber and Workiz
  • Public API at api.zencall.ai for custom integrations
  • French publisher identified with a registered Paris address

Cons

  • Essentials includes only 100 minutes a month before $0.09/min overage kicks in
  • No free tier, only a trial
  • API access is gated to the Standard tier
  • Lifetime deal requires emailing support and waiting up to 48 business hours to activate

Which one fits

Choose Bland AI if you need

  • Teams replacing IVR menus with agents that can be interrupted
  • Outbound qualification and appointment confirmation at volume
  • Regulated industries needing HIPAA or PCI paperwork on file

Choose ZenCall if you need

  • Plumbers, HVAC and locksmiths who cannot answer while on a job
  • Small teams that need after-hours and weekend cover
  • Shops already using ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro or Workiz
