What our research says

Bland AI

One of the few voice-agent vendors that quotes a single all-in per-minute rate and publishes compliance certifications, which makes cost modelling straightforward. The catch is that the cheap minute rate sits behind tier-gated limits, so real call-centre volume pushes you onto a monthly platform fee as well.

Pros

  • All-in per-minute rate covers model, transcription, voice and telephony
  • Documented REST API with batch dispatch and live in-call calls
  • SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and PCI DSS v4.0 compliance stated
  • Free start credits and an inbound number without a card

Cons

  • Concurrency, daily call caps and voice counts are gated by tier
  • Build and Scale add $299 and $499 monthly fees on top of minutes
  • A closed in-house stack means less choice of underlying models

Pencil'd

Priced and pitched for one-van businesses rather than call centres, which is the right shape for the problem: a tradesperson with their hands full loses the call and the job. The 100-minute entry allowance is the number to watch — at $0.50 an overage minute, a busy month makes the $100 unlimited plan cheaper than the $50 one.

Pros

  • Books appointments into the calendar and inbox, not just takes messages
  • Transcripts of every call included on the entry plan
  • Live demo callback from your own website address before signing up
  • 14-day trial with no setup fee on both plans

Cons

  • Entry plan includes only 100 minutes, with $0.50 per minute after
  • No company country or legal entity published
  • Website is the only channel documented — no app or integrations listed
  • Enterprise pricing is unpublished
