ANDRE vs Dovetail

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. ANDRE publishes a starting price ($945); Dovetail does not. Only Dovetail ships a public API.

What our research says

ANDRE

ANDRE is one of the few AI analysis tools that swallows an SPSS .SAV file and hands back a finished report rather than a chat transcript, and doing cleaning, charting and narrative in one pass genuinely saves a day of work. The pricing is the problem: $945 a month for three reports and a 4 MB upload cap prices out exactly the small teams the marketing targets.

Pros

  • Accepts SPSS .SAV alongside CSV and XLSX, which most AI analysis tools will not touch
  • Cleaning, charts and written conclusions come out of a single pass instead of three tools
  • Priced by reports and file size rather than seats, so an occasional user is not paying per head
  • Free trial with no upfront payment on every tier

Cons

  • The entry tier is $945 a month for only three reports
  • A 4 MB upload cap on Startup rules out large raw exports with open-text answers
  • No API, so it cannot be wired into a recurring research pipeline
  • The vendor publishes no founding date or team page

Dovetail

Dovetail works best for teams that already have research and feedback scattered across many tools and want one AI-searchable layer on top, not for teams starting from a blank slate. Its compliance posture (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR) targets larger, more regulated buyers, which shows in the sales-only pricing.

Pros

  • Connects 38+ integrations plus API/CLI for custom sources
  • AI chat and semantic search across all connected feedback
  • Runs on AWS Bedrock with automatic PII redaction
  • SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR compliant

Cons

  • No published pricing anywhere on the site
  • Claimed efficiency metrics are vendor-reported
  • Enterprise compliance focus likely means enterprise-level pricing

Which one fits

Choose ANDRE if you need

  • Teams sitting on survey exports with no analyst to interpret them
  • Researchers who need SPSS .SAV files read without owning SPSS
  • One-off projects where a finished, shareable report matters more than a live dashboard

Choose Dovetail if you need

  • Product, research, and CX teams centralizing feedback from many tools
  • Regulated orgs needing HIPAA/SOC 2/GDPR-compliant handling of customer data
  • Teams wanting to query research via Slack or Teams instead of a separate app
