AcademicHelp AI Essay Writer vs Jenni AI

AcademicHelp AI Essay Writer

The citation formatting and scholarly-source lookup are more than most essay generators bother with, but the 'free' tool now sits behind an AHelp Learning Hub account whose free tier is 3 credits a day, so real use means a $9.95-a-month plan. It also lives on a site whose business is referring students to paid writing services, and using generated essay text as submitted work is an academic integrity problem the site does not raise.

Pros

• +Free Hub tier lets you try it before paying
• +Formats citations in both MLA and APA
• +Can surface scholarly sources alongside the draft
• +The same account covers AHelp's paraphraser, grammar checker and AI detector

Cons

• −The host site's revenue comes from reviewing and referring paid essay-writing services, which colours those reviews
• −Advertised as free, but needs an account and the free tier is 3 credits a day
• −No disclosure of which model generates the text or how sources are selected
• −Generated text carries the usual AI-detection and academic misconduct risk, which the page does not flag

Jenni AI

The clearest fit when your writing is citation-heavy and the real problem is finding the source and citing it correctly, not generating 800 words. Students testing the free tier will hit the daily caps inside a single session.

Pros

• +Citations inserted in 10,000+ styles and tied back to the uploaded source document
• +Semantic search across a large body of papers is built in, so reading and drafting stay in one tab
• +Export to .docx and LaTeX means it slots into existing submission workflows
• +$12/month entry tier undercuts most general-purpose writing assistants

Cons

• −Free plan limits are per day and very small, which makes real evaluation slow
• −No public developer API found, and team pricing is quote-only through the Teams page
• −Grounding reduces but does not eliminate the need to verify every generated reference
• −Coverage of paywalled or very recent literature depends on what you can upload yourself
