What our research says

Essay Writer App

Cheap and blunt: a generator plus a detector-evasion pass, priced under fifteen dollars a month at every tier. The 1,500-word ceiling applies even on the unlimited plan, so longer coursework has to be stitched together. The product's entire pitch contradicts the disclaimer in its own footer, and the operator is anonymous, which is a poor combination for anything with your name on it.

Pros

Entry plan at $5.99 a month, cheaper than most essay tools
Outliner, paraphraser, grammar check and citation generator bundled in
A human-writer ordering route sits alongside the AI tool

Cons

1,500-word ceiling per essay on every plan, including the unlimited tier
No company name, registration or country published anywhere
No free tier — the tool is behind a subscription from the first essay

Jenni AI

The clearest fit when your writing is citation-heavy and the real problem is finding the source and citing it correctly, not generating 800 words. Students testing the free tier will hit the daily caps inside a single session.

Pros

Citations inserted in 10,000+ styles and tied back to the uploaded source document
Semantic search across a large body of papers is built in, so reading and drafting stay in one tab
Export to .docx and LaTeX means it slots into existing submission workflows
$12/month entry tier undercuts most general-purpose writing assistants

Cons

Free plan limits are per day and very small, which makes real evaluation slow
No public developer API found, and team pricing is quote-only through the Teams page
Grounding reduces but does not eliminate the need to verify every generated reference
Coverage of paywalled or very recent literature depends on what you can upload yourself

Which one fits

Choose Essay Writer App if you need

Drafting a short essay outline or first pass to rewrite yourself
Paraphrasing and citation formatting on a small budget
Students who want a cheap monthly tool rather than per-page ordering

Choose Jenni AI if you need

Literature reviews and thesis chapters where every claim needs a traceable reference
Non-native English speakers polishing academic register
Researchers already living in Zotero or Mendeley who want drafting in the same loop
