AcademicHelp AI Essay Writer vs Textero

AcademicHelp AI Essay Writer

Free, no signup wall, and the citation formatting plus scholarly-source lookup is more than most free essay generators bother with. But it lives on a site whose business is referring students to paid writing services, so the tool is a funnel, and using generated essay text as submitted work is an academic integrity problem the site does not raise.

Pros

• +Genuinely free with no plan tiers or paywall on the generator
• +Formats citations in both MLA and APA
• +Can surface scholarly sources alongside the draft
• +Sits next to guides, samples and a student forum on the same site

Cons

• −The host site's revenue comes from reviewing and referring paid essay-writing services, which colours those reviews
• −No disclosure of which model generates the text or how sources are selected
• −Generated text carries the usual AI-detection and academic misconduct risk, which the page does not flag

Textero

As a paid essay generator it is complete: citations attached, a free daily allowance that is enough to judge output quality, a clear price ladder down to $8.25/month annually, and a named Cypriot entity behind it. The problem is not the software. It ships an AI detection remover alongside an ethical-use page, which tells you exactly which use case the pricing is designed around, and most institutions treat that as misconduct.

Pros

• +Free tier gives 5 credits and 5 AI commands daily plus unlimited PDF uploads
• +Clear credit definition — one generated page equals one credit
• +Wide toolkit around the generator: outlines, grading, proofreading, paraphrasing, citations
• +Chrome and Edge extensions, and a named registered company in Limassol, Cyprus
• +14-day money-back guarantee on the quarterly and yearly plans

Cons

• −Sells an AI detection remover, which puts the product squarely in academic-misconduct territory
• −AI-attached citations still need checking — generated references are a known failure mode
• −Only the monthly plan is truly month-to-month; the cheap rates require quarterly or annual commitment
• −The 300,000+ user figure and star ratings are self-reported on the marketing page
