Use tool ↗About UniJump
UniJump puts ChatGPT in a keyboard-triggered overlay so you can ask something without leaving the tab you are on: Cmd or Ctrl plus J opens it, and a paraphrase action rewrites selected text in place. It has no backend and no account of its own - it drives your existing free OpenAI session, which means it inherits whatever rate limits and model access that session has, and stops working if you are signed out. The project is free, points at a GitHub repository, Discord and Telegram for support, and the site still carries a 2023 copyright with no changelog since, so treat it as unmaintained until proven otherwise.

Pros & cons of UniJump
A single-purpose shortcut: ChatGPT in an overlay instead of a separate tab, at no cost and with no account of its own. The catch is age - nothing on the site has moved since 2023, and an extension that rides someone else's web session is exactly the kind of thing that breaks quietly.
Pros
- No signup, no key, no payment - it uses the OpenAI session you already have
- Cmd/Ctrl+J overlay works on any site rather than needing a dedicated tab
- In-place paraphrasing of selected text
- Code is on GitHub, so behaviour is inspectable
Cons
- Site copyright has read 2023 for three years, with no visible updates
- Depends on an undocumented web session rather than the official API, so an upstream change can break it
- Chrome only, and no company or maintainer is named
Best for
- People who bounce to ChatGPT constantly and want it over the current page
- Anyone unwilling to pay a subscription for a wrapper around a free service
- Users who want a paraphrase shortcut on selected text
Not for
- Anyone needing a maintained tool with support and a release cadence
- Users on Firefox, Safari or a non-Chromium browser
Watch out: Extensions that read your ChatGPT web session have broad page access; check the current permissions in the store listing before installing.
