Paste a YouTube link and get a segmented summary, highlights, mind map and generated Q&A
Summarize.ing takes a YouTube URL and returns more than a paragraph: a segmented summary you can read section by section, highlights, a mind map, extracted key concepts and keywords, and eight to ten generated questions with answers. A separate transcript generator sits alongside it. The free tier is usable rather than decorative — five summaries a day on videos under thirty minutes — while paid tiers raise the daily cap, lift the video-length limit and move generation onto Claude models. The about page says it was started in December 2023 by a founder who goes by Fred, with the service launched in January 2024. There is no public API yet.
$7.49/month is the Pro rate on yearly billing: 50 summaries a day, videos up to 60 minutes, faster generation on Claude 3.5 Sonnet. Premium is $15.70/month yearly for 100 a day and 120-minute videos. Free stays at 5 a day, sub-30-minute videos, slow generation. Month-to-month rates are higher and were not shown as figures on the page we read.
Use tool ↗The output format is the selling point — segmented summaries plus mind maps and generated Q&A read better than the single wall of text most YouTube summarisers produce. The free tier is genuinely usable, but the paid jump buys throughput and a longer video ceiling rather than better analysis, and there is still no API.
Watch out: Advertised prices are the yearly-billing rate; the FAQ says outright that prices are likely to rise.
