What our research says

Seline Analytics

Seline covers the core things people actually want from Google Analytics alternatives — funnels, revenue attribution, cookie-less tracking — from a small bootstrapped team rather than a large ad company with other incentives. The lack of any free tier is the main friction point for someone who just wants to try it on a side project first.

Pros

  • No cookie banner needed, since tracking uses non-reversible hashing instead of cookies
  • Revenue attribution connects directly to Stripe, Polar, or Shopify
  • Direct integrations for several popular site builders, not just a generic script tag

Cons

  • No free plan — every account requires payment after the trial
  • A small, bootstrapped team means less redundancy than a larger analytics vendor
  • Exact plan pricing beyond the entry tier was not fully legible during this review

Simple Analytics

The clearest reason to pick it is legal, not analytical: no cookies, no personal data, EU hosting, and therefore no consent banner to bolt onto your site. The AI assistant is a convenience layer on a deliberately shallow dataset, not a substitute for a real BI stack. Per-user pricing gets expensive fast for larger teams.

Pros

  • No cookies and no personal data collected, so no consent banner is required
  • Both an aggregated stats API and a raw export API are documented
  • EU-hosted infrastructure with a company registered in the Netherlands since 2018
  • 14-day trial needs no credit card and a free tier remains after it

Cons

  • Every additional user costs another EUR 20/month at the entry tier
  • The single-page dashboard is intentionally limited — no deep segmentation or cohort analysis
  • Prices are quoted in euros, so the dollar cost moves with the exchange rate

Which one fits

Choose Seline Analytics if you need

  • Startups and SaaS teams wanting revenue attribution tied to Stripe or similar
  • Site owners who want to avoid cookie-consent banners entirely
  • Teams on Webflow, Framer, Shopify, or Next.js wanting a direct integration

Choose Simple Analytics if you need

  • EU sites that want to drop the cookie consent banner entirely
  • Small teams who want traffic numbers without configuring a reporting tool
  • Developers who need clean stats and export APIs
