What our research says

GenYOU

A quick way to turn a handful of selfies into varied portraits that keep the person's likeness, with a free trial to judge the results. It targets casual users and creators rather than professionals who need guaranteed corporate-grade headshots. Check the app store reviews and the privacy terms before uploading faces of other people.

Pros

  • Needs only about four selfies to personalize results
  • Covers headshots, avatars and full-body images in one tool
  • Free tier lets you test before paying
  • Available on iOS, Android and web

Cons

  • Free images are watermarked
  • Subscription prices are not shown on the public landing page
  • Early app store ratings are modest and few

Remini

One of the strongest one-tap fixes for faces and old family photos, which is why its user numbers are so large. The catch is pricing structure: weekly auto-renewing subscriptions sold in-app with no public price list, which makes casual use expensive if you forget to cancel.

Pros

  • Face reconstruction quality is the product's core strength
  • Runs on web, iOS and Android with the same account
  • Free tier exists for occasional single-photo jobs
  • Handles video enhancement, not just stills

Cons

  • Weekly subscription framing obscures the real annual cost
  • Prices differ by region and platform and are only visible at checkout
  • Aggressive enhancement can invent facial detail, a known trait of face-restoration models
