What our research says

Quillionz

Quillionz is a mature product from an established eLearning company rather than a solo indie tool, and direct Canvas and Moodle integration makes it more deployable inside existing school infrastructure than a standalone quiz generator. The pricing structure is split oddly across monthly, quarterly and two different annual plans, so it is worth comparing the actual question caps before picking a tier.

Pros

  • Backed by an established eLearning company with a named headquarters
  • Direct Canvas integration and Moodle LTI support
  • REST API available for institutional integration

Cons

  • Pricing tiers overlap confusingly between monthly, quarterly and two annual options
  • Free trial is time-limited rather than an ongoing free plan

Quizgecko

Solid for the narrow job of converting source material into gradable questions, and the LMS export is why teachers pick it over generic chatbots. Ask a chatbot for questions and you get text; ask Quizgecko and you get an assignment.

Pros

  • Output formats are assignment-ready, not just raw question text
  • Handles several source types — pasted text, uploads, URLs — not only typed prompts
  • Distinct student and educator plans instead of one generic subscription
  • Free tier is enough to judge question quality on your own material

Cons

  • Generated distractors on technical subjects still need a human pass
  • API access is reserved for the higher business and enterprise tiers
  • Site is behind an aggressive bot filter, so plan details are awkward to check before signup
  • Free plan quota is small enough that regular use forces an upgrade quickly
