What our research says

Plus AI

The one thing it does that standalone deck generators cannot is leave you with an ordinary Slides or PowerPoint file that colleagues can open and edit without an account. That alone decides it for most corporate users. The absence of any free tier means you evaluate on a carded trial or not at all.

Pros

  • Native add-on for both Google Slides and PowerPoint, output stays in the native format
  • Generates from a prompt, a pasted document or an uploaded PDF
  • Slide-level rewriting, reformatting, translation and image generation after the first draft
  • Separate market-research report generator from a company or industry name
  • Presentations API, agent API and MCP server for programmatic use

Cons

  • No free tier at all; the 7-day trial requires a card
  • Credit-metered, so heavy generation runs out before the month does
  • Team tier is per user, so cost scales linearly
  • Output still needs a manual design pass for anything client-facing

STORYD

Worth a look if your problem is that your slides ramble, not that they look plain — STORYD sells narrative scaffolding first and visuals second. If you want a designed deck out of the box, the design-led generators will get you further.

Pros

  • structure-first flow actually addresses the common failure of unfocused business decks
  • exports to PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and Canva, so nothing is trapped in the tool
  • cheap entry at $24/month monthly, dropping to $18 on annual billing
  • API access exists on the Automate tier, which is rare for a deck generator

Cons

  • the free plan is 5 lifetime credits, not 5 per month
  • visual polish trails design-led competitors
  • small two-founder operation with a thin public footprint, so support depth is unproven
  • the jump from Pro to Automate is $24 to $150 monthly with no tier in between

Which one fits

Choose Plus AI if you need

  • Teams locked into Google Slides or PowerPoint who cannot hand round a proprietary deck format
  • Turning an existing document or PDF into a first-draft deck
  • Slide-level editing tasks like rewriting, reformatting and translating

Choose STORYD if you need

  • consultants and analysts who need an exec-ready update fast
  • internal recommendation and status decks
  • non-designers who struggle to structure an argument, not to style it
  • teams that want to finish the deck in PowerPoint or Google Slides
