Use tool ↗About Pixels2Flutter
Pixels2Flutter takes a screenshot of an interface and generates Flutter code for it, sending the image through a multimodal model — GPT-4o or Gemini 1.5 Pro — using an API key you paste in yourself. The tool is itself written in Flutter and compiled to the web, so it runs in the browser with no account, no server-side storage and no billing of its own. It was written by David Miguel Lozano, author of the langchain_dart packages, and released under AGPL-3.0. The hosted app at pixels2flutter.dev still loads, but the GitHub repository was archived in May 2026 and is read-only, so no further fixes are coming.

Pros & cons of Pixels2Flutter
A focused open-source utility that does exactly one thing — screenshot in, Flutter widget code out — with your own model key, so nothing you upload passes through a middleman's server. The reason to hesitate is maintenance: the repository was archived in May 2026, so the model list is frozen at GPT-4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro and nobody is fixing anything.
Pros
- Runs client-side in the browser with your own API key, so images do not transit a vendor backend
- No account, no subscription, no usage caps imposed by the tool
- Full source published under AGPL-3.0, with 222 stars on GitHub
- Supports both OpenAI and Google multimodal models rather than locking to one
Cons
- The GitHub repository was archived in May 2026 and is read-only
- Model choices are frozen at GPT-4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro
- You must obtain and paste in your own API key before anything works
Best for
- Flutter developers wanting a first-pass widget tree from a mockup
- Anyone who prefers paying the model provider directly rather than a SaaS markup
- Reading the source to build something similar, given the AGPL licence
Not for
- Non-developers — the output is raw code you still have to wire up and run
- Teams that need a supported, maintained vendor with a roadmap
Watch out: Upstream development has stopped — the repo is archived, so when a model endpoint changes or breaks, nothing on the hosted site will be updated to match.
