A free macOS menu-bar app that reroutes Claude Code and Claude Desktop to run on a different AI model provider.
Modyak is a macOS menu-bar app, built by Netherlands-based Brthrs Agency BV, that acts as a local proxy so Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and OpenAI Codex can run against a different model provider instead of their default one. A user picks a preset covering providers like OpenAI, DeepSeek, Ollama, Groq, Together, Fireworks, and OpenRouter, and Modyak maps each tool tier (for example Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) to a model from that provider and translates streaming and tool-calling between formats. It's aimed at teams needing EU data residency, developers wanting a cheaper model than the default, or anyone wanting a fully local setup through Ollama with no data leaving their machine. The app itself is free; any cost comes from whichever provider a user connects.
The app itself has no charge; cost depends entirely on the model provider a user selects, some of which (Ollama, certain free tiers) cost nothing at all.
