What our research says

Mindtrip

Mindtrip is the most complete of the chat trip planners because the chat, the itinerary and the map are the same object rather than three panes that drift apart. Booking inside the app is what makes it free, and also what shapes the recommendations. Group editing and Google Maps import remove the two chores that usually push people back into a shared doc.

Pros

  • Itinerary, map and chat stay synchronised in one view
  • Imports saved places from Google Maps and can start a trip from a photo
  • Books flights, hotels, restaurants and experiences without leaving the app
  • Free to plan with no subscription gate

Cons

  • Revenue comes from bookings, so recommendations are not neutral
  • No Android app listed
  • Car rentals and tours are still marked as coming soon

Wanderboat

Wanderboat's edge is pulling structure out of unstructured travel research, turning a shared link or document into an actual itinerary with photos and reviews attached, backed by real funding and an experienced team. The free plan works for basic planning, but the premium tier's price is not disclosed anywhere we could find.

Pros

  • Builds itineraries directly from shared links, documents, or conversations
  • Aggregates multimedia (videos, images, reviews) rather than plain text recommendations
  • Backed by about $18M in funding and a team with Microsoft Bing/Copilot experience
  • Free plan available for basic itinerary generation

Cons

  • Premium plan pricing is not published anywhere we found
  • We could not load the vendor's own site directly during this research and relied on third-party listings instead
  • Community itinerary quality will vary since it is user-contributed
