What our research says

Mindtrip

Mindtrip is one of the more complete chat trip planners because the chat, the itinerary and the map are the same object rather than three panes that drift apart, and in 2026 it has become a personal travel assistant that remembers your preferences and watches prices for you. Booking inside the app is what makes it free, and also what shapes the recommendations.

Pros

  • Itinerary, map and chat stay synchronised in one view
  • Remembers travel preferences so each new trip starts from what it already knows
  • Books flights, stays and restaurants without leaving the app, with price-drop and change alerts
  • Free to plan with no subscription gate

Cons

  • Revenue comes from bookings, so recommendations are not neutral
  • No Android app listed; the iOS app requires iOS 26
  • Personalisation depends on handing it a detailed profile of how you travel

Walvee

Walvee's angle is combining trip inspiration, an interactive map, and flight/hotel search in one AI-guided session instead of separate tabs, and its World Cup and video-to-itinerary builders are a genuinely different starting point than a blank prompt box. It is still a beta product, though, and the site itself gives little detail beyond navigation.

Pros

  • Builds itineraries from templates, free text, or travel creators' video content
  • Combines chat, map, and flight/hotel search in one session
  • Completely free with no signup required
  • Backed by Google for Startups, suggesting active investment

Cons

  • Still labeled beta, with a thin marketing site that mostly links to app sections
  • No visible way to verify how current or complete the flight/hotel results are
