Use tool ↗About GPT for Work
GPT for Work is a set of add-ons, listed on the Google Workspace Marketplace as GPT for Sheets and Docs, that put language models from several providers inside spreadsheets and documents. You can call an AI function in a cell, run bulk tools to translate, classify or enrich thousands of rows, or ask an agent to write formulas and clean data in plain language. A subscription includes a monthly allowance of usage credits and unlocks extra models, and Business and Enterprise plans add team billing, bring-your-own API keys and SAML sign-in. It is made by Talarian, a small Swiss software company that also makes mail-merge and form add-ons.

Pros & cons of GPT for Work
A good fit for marketers, SEO people and analysts who already live in Sheets and want to run the same prompt over thousands of rows without leaving the spreadsheet. The subscription bundles model access so you do not manage separate API accounts unless you want to. Heavy users should watch how fast the monthly usage allowance runs out.
Pros
- Runs where the data already is, with functions, bulk tools and an agent
- Several model providers behind one subscription, plus bring-your-own-key on Business
- ISO 27001 certified, with a stated zero data retention policy
- Free install with trial credits before any payment
Cons
- Included usage resets every month and does not roll over
- Each plan covers either the Sheets or the Excel add-on, not both
- Per-seat pricing adds up quickly for larger teams
Best for
- Marketing and SEO teams translating, classifying or rewriting long lists in Google Sheets
- Analysts who want AI help with formulas and data cleaning inside the sheet
Not for
- People who only need an occasional chat answer and do not work in spreadsheets
- Teams that must keep spreadsheets entirely on-premises with no external model calls
Watch out: Subscription usage is capped at the credits included each month with no rollover, so a big bulk job on a premium model can use the whole allowance; extra usage must be bought separately and expires after 12 months.
