Use tool βAbout Glide
Glide builds business apps from data you already have in Google Sheets, Excel, Airtable, Salesforce, PostgreSQL or Snowflake. In the current GlideOS product you upload a spreadsheet or describe an app in a prompt, and Glide generates screens and workflows for desktop and mobile, with role-based views, credits for AI features and support for your own agent over MCP. The original platform continues as Glide Classic, with its own pricing and drag-and-drop editor. Both target operations teams building inventory, field-service, CRM or customer-portal tools.

Pros & cons of Glide
Glide is a good fit for operations teams that already keep their processes in spreadsheets and want working apps without engineers. The split between GlideOS and Glide Classic, each with its own plans, makes pricing confusing, so decide which edition you are buying before comparing costs.
Pros
- Connects to common spreadsheets, databases and business tools
- Free plans in both editions let you try before paying
- Role-based views limit what each user can see and change
- SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA are listed on the site
Cons
- GlideOS and Glide Classic are separate products with separate subscriptions
- GlideOS usage is metered in credits, so heavy AI use needs plan upgrades or top-ups
- Classic's Business plan starts at $199/month, a large step up from the free plan
Best for
- Operations and field teams replacing spreadsheet workflows with shared apps
- Small businesses that want customer or partner portals on top of existing data
- Teams that want AI-generated apps with role-based access
Not for
- Buyers who want one simple price list, since GlideOS and Glide Classic are priced separately
- Anyone who needs to publish apps on a zero-cost plan, because the GlideOS free plan allows none
Watch out: A GlideOS subscription does not carry over to Glide Classic or the reverse, and free GlideOS cannot publish apps. Check the edition and the credit or update limits before choosing a plan.
