Use tool ↗About Glaze
Glaze is a Mac app from Raycast that builds native desktop applications from a chat conversation instead of a code editor — the assistant writes the app, wires up file-system access, keyboard shortcuts, and menu-bar integration, then runs it locally. Apps it builds run offline once compiled to the machine rather than served from a browser tab. The free plan includes 50 one-time credits and the faster model tier; a $10 monthly plan adds 100 credits a month and the smarter model. It currently requires macOS Tahoe on Apple Silicon — Windows and Linux are not supported yet.

Pros & cons of Glaze
Glaze lets you describe a Mac app in chat and get a real, locally-running native application instead of a web page, which is what separates it from browser-based AI app builders. It's Mac-only for now, needs Apple Silicon and a recent macOS version, and the free tier's 50 credits are a one-time allowance rather than monthly.
Pros
- Builds native macOS apps with file-system access and menu-bar integration, not just web pages
- Apps run offline once built
- Can use an existing Claude subscription instead of buying Glaze credits
- Made by Raycast, an established Mac productivity company
Cons
- Restricted to macOS Tahoe on Apple Silicon; no Windows or Linux support yet
- Free tier's 50 credits are one-time, not renewing monthly
Best for
- Mac users who want a working desktop utility without writing code
- People who already pay for Raycast or a Claude subscription and want to reuse it for building
Not for
- Windows or Linux users, since neither is supported yet
- Teams that need to ship an app to customers outside the Glaze Store through their own release pipeline
Watch out: Team Stores are free only during the current beta, so pricing there is likely to change once it exits beta.
