Use tool ↗About Futurwise
Futurwise is made by Think Squared Pty Ltd in Sydney and works as a read-later queue that summarises whatever you drop into it. It handles news articles, research, podcasts, video and PDFs, condenses each one, keeps the source attribution attached, and filters for named human authors rather than machine-written filler. It runs as a website, iOS and Android apps, and a Chrome extension for saving while you browse. Starter is free with ten article insights a month; Curious costs $12.99, Pro $29.99 and Visionary $79.99 a month, with the upper tiers adding multimedia summaries, larger personal libraries and shareable briefings.

Pros & cons of Futurwise
A read-later app whose selling point is that everything you save comes back shorter, whatever format it arrived in. Podcasts and video in the same queue as articles and PDFs is the genuinely useful part, since most competitors only do text. The vendor is a named Australian company with an ABN on the site, which is more accountability than this category usually offers. Article and multimedia quotas are metered separately, so the cheap tier is only unlimited for text.
Pros
- Articles, PDFs, podcasts and video all summarised in one queue
- Summaries offered in more than 25 languages
- Native iOS and Android apps plus a Chrome extension for capture
- Source attribution is retained on every summary
- Named vendor with a registered Australian entity and ABN
Cons
- Free tier stops at 10 article insights a month
- Multimedia summaries are capped separately even on paid tiers
- The claim to filter out AI-written sources is not documented in any verifiable way
- No API
Best for
- people who save far more than they read
- following research and podcasts in a second language
- building a personal digest across formats
Not for
- team knowledge bases with shared permissions
- anyone needing programmatic access to their own library
Watch out: "Unlimited articles" on the $12.99 plan still limits you to 15 multimedia summaries a month.
