Condenses nonfiction books into 15-minute text and audio summaries, with an AI tier that also summarizes videos and articles.
Blinkist condenses nonfiction books into short summaries—called Blinks—that run about 15 minutes in text or audio, covering more than 6,500 titles in English, German and Spanish. The free tier gives one summary a day; Premium unlocks the full library for offline reading and listening. A newer Pro tier adds Blinkist AI, which extends the same condensing approach to videos, podcasts, documents and articles you feed it, not just books in its own catalog. Founded in Berlin in 2012, Blinkist was acquired by workplace-learning company Go1 in 2023 and continues to operate as its own product and brand under that ownership.
Premium is billed at $99.99/year for the full book-summary library; Pro adds Blinkist AI for $139.99/year.
Use tool ↗Blinkist is a mature product with a large, professionally-written summary catalog, a real advantage over AI tools that summarize on the fly and can miss nuance in a 300-page book. The AI tier for videos and articles is a bolt-on to that core catalog business rather than the main reason to use it, and annual-only pricing on Premium is a real commitment for something you might use in bursts.
