What our research says

ClickUp

ClickUp fits teams that want to consolidate tasks, docs, chat and reporting into one tool and are willing to spend time configuring it; the bundled AI credits make Brain usable without a separate subscription. Small teams that just need a simple board, or anyone sensitive to dense interfaces, will find it heavier than it needs to be.

Pros

  • Very broad feature set covering tasks, docs, chat, whiteboards, goals and time tracking
  • Generous free plan with unlimited members and tasks
  • AI credits are included in every paid plan rather than sold as a separate seat add-on
  • Apps for web, desktop, mobile and a Chrome extension, plus a public API

Cons

  • The breadth of options makes setup and day-to-day navigation complex
  • Free plan limits storage to 60 MB and gives AI only as a one-off 500-credit trial
  • Headline prices assume yearly billing; monthly is roughly a third more

Vaiz

Vaiz covers the Jira and Confluence or Notion overlap at a price well under either, and importers from several competitors make a trial cheap to run. The free tier is gone, so after 14 days the workspace goes read-only unless you pay $5 per user a month on a yearly plan; the AI agent sits on the $9 Premium tier. The company publishes no country, address or team page, which is a fair reason to hesitate before moving a whole organisation onto it.

Pros

  • Boards, docs, Gantt and dashboards in one product rather than three
  • Importers for Jira, Asana, Trello, YouTrack and Linear, with a tasks-only Notion import
  • $5 per user a month on yearly billing, with unlimited members, automations and history, and MCP access on Pro
  • Guests do not count as paid seats

Cons

  • No free plan: after the 14-day trial an unpaid workspace becomes read-only
  • The AI agent is gated behind the $9 Premium tier
  • No company country, address or founding date published
