Use tool ↗About ClaviSay
ClaviSay is a reading-based language learning tool for Chinese and English learners. You feed it an article, PDF, video, or web page, and it produces a bilingual version with inline explanations, letting you read real content instead of textbook dialogues. Words you look up get saved to a personal vocabulary list, and the app generates quizzes from that saved list for review. It ships as a Chrome extension, a web workspace, and an iOS app; an Android app is listed as coming soon. The company behind it, ETOILEE PTE. LTD., is registered in Singapore. The site does not publish a subscription price, though the apps themselves are free to download.

Pros & cons of ClaviSay
A reasonable fit for intermediate learners who want to practise on real articles and videos rather than scripted lessons, with vocabulary saved and quizzed automatically. As of mid-October 2026, though, the website is down with a Cloudflare configuration error while the iOS app is still listed, so confirm the service is alive before paying for anything inside the app.
Pros
- Works on real content you choose (articles, PDFs, video) instead of a fixed lesson bank
- Automatically builds a vocabulary list and turns it into quizzes without manual flashcard creation
- Available as a Chrome extension and web app plus a rated iOS app
Cons
- No pricing published on the site, so cost can't be compared before creating an account
- Android app is not yet available, only listed as coming soon
Best for
- Intermediate Chinese or English learners who want to read real-world material
- People who prefer learning vocabulary in context over flashcard apps
Not for
- Complete beginners needing structured grammar lessons
- Android users, until that app ships
Watch out: The marketing site returns a Cloudflare 1014 error to everyone, not just bots; if it stays down, the Chrome extension and web workspace may be gone too, leaving only the iOS app.
