What our research says

Buffer

Buffer fits solo creators, small businesses and lean agencies who want simple scheduling and analytics with AI help on drafts and no add-on fee. Brands that need social listening, paid-ads management or deep enterprise reporting will outgrow it.

Pros

  • AI Assistant included on every plan, including free
  • Per-channel pricing lets you pay only for the networks you use
  • Covers newer networks such as Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon and Substack
  • Public GraphQL API and CLI with documented rate limits

Cons

  • Costs scale with channel count, so many accounts get expensive on Team
  • Free plan caps the queue at 10 posts per channel and keeps 30 days of insights
  • No social listening or ad management

Synapis

Synapis is aimed at small ecommerce stores that want a steady stream of on-brand social posts without hiring anyone to write or design them, and the one-click approval step keeps a human in the loop before anything publishes. The credit-pack pricing is friendlier to occasional posters than a flat subscription, but the platform list is limited to three networks and the operator is a small sole-trader business in Kosovo with payments collected by a UK intermediary.

Pros

  • Reads an existing store or site to decide what's worth posting instead of starting from a blank prompt
  • Generates both caption copy and accompanying visuals in one pass
  • Requires one-click approval before anything goes live, avoiding fully unattended publishing

Cons

  • Limited to three social platforms: Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Credit-pack pricing makes it harder to predict a fixed monthly cost than a flat subscription
  • The contract is with a sole-trader business in Kosovo while a separate UK company takes the payment

Which one fits

Choose Buffer if you need

  • Solo creators and small businesses posting to a handful of networks
  • Agencies that add and drop client channels and want to pay per channel
  • Teams that want AI drafting without a separate subscription

Choose Synapis if you need

  • Small Shopify or WooCommerce stores without a dedicated social media person
  • Merchants who want AI-generated posts reviewed before publishing rather than fully automatic
