What our research says

Buffer

Buffer fits solo creators, small businesses and lean agencies who want simple scheduling and analytics with AI help on drafts and no add-on fee. Brands that need social listening, paid-ads management or deep enterprise reporting will outgrow it.

Pros

  • AI Assistant included on every plan, including free
  • Per-channel pricing lets you pay only for the networks you use
  • Covers newer networks such as Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon and Substack
  • Public GraphQL API and CLI with documented rate limits

Cons

  • Costs scale with channel count, so many accounts get expensive on Team
  • Free plan caps the queue at 10 posts per channel and keeps 30 days of insights
  • No social listening or ad management

SocialEcho

Network coverage is the reason to look: Telegram, Reddit, Threads and TikTok Shop alongside the usual five is wider than most schedulers manage, and auto-replying to comments and DMs is included rather than sold as an add-on. The compliance certifications are a real signal at this price. Read the pricing carefully though - the $15 is per month billed annually and assumes at least five connected accounts.

Pros

  • Eleven networks including TikTok Shop, Telegram, Reddit and Threads
  • AI-drafted replies to comments and DMs, plus real-time post monitoring
  • Connects via official platform APIs without storing account passwords
  • ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II certifications listed
  • 7-day trial with no card required

Cons

  • Both paid tiers are annual-billing prices with a five-account minimum
  • Operating team sits behind a Singapore holding entity with a Guangdong ICP filing - jurisdiction is split
  • No public API for your own automation
  • Basic gets only 'limited' AI capabilities; full AI and post, competitor and keyword monitoring need the Team plan

Which one fits

Choose Buffer if you need

  • Solo creators and small businesses posting to a handful of networks
  • Agencies that add and drop client channels and want to pay per channel
  • Teams that want AI drafting without a separate subscription

Choose SocialEcho if you need

  • agencies and sellers running many accounts at once
  • brands active on TikTok Shop, Reddit or Telegram
  • teams that want comment and DM replies handled in the same tool
