Overview

About BrandScreen

BrandScreen checks a proposed company or product name against the USPTO trademark register, domain availability, business entity records in five US states, social media handles and search competition, then returns a Brand Score with an AI-written analysis of the name's strength. Full reports and the name generator are free, with no subscription needed to screen a name. The one paid plan, Protect, re-checks up to five chosen names every week and emails you when a new trademark filing, domain change or business registration appears, and it lets you claim a brand page. It is run by Infinipede, Inc., and the site says its results are not legal advice.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of BrandScreen

high confidence

BrandScreen answers a specific pre-launch question — will this name cause trademark or domain trouble — by pulling together checks that would otherwise mean visiting several registries by hand. Full reports are now free, so you can validate every candidate name before paying anything; the only subscription is for watching a chosen name afterwards.

Pros

  • Combines trademark, domain, entity, and social-handle checks into one report
  • Full reports and name generation are free, not limited to a teaser score
  • Ongoing monitoring on paid plans, not just a single point-in-time check

Cons

  • The AI-written 0-100 score is not a substitute for an actual legal trademark opinion
  • Entity searches cover only 5 US states and trademark screening only the USPTO register, so non-US conflicts can slip through
  • The single $49-a-month plan is the only way to get ongoing monitoring; there is no cheaper tier for watching one name

Best for

  • Founders picking a company or product name before launch
  • Anyone who wants trademark, domain, and social-handle checks in one report
  • Teams monitoring a chosen name for new conflicts week by week on the Protect plan

Not for

  • Anyone needing an actual trademark filing or legal opinion, not just a risk score
  • Teams that only need a domain checker and nothing else

Watch out: The 0-100 AI score is a risk indicator, not legal clearance — a clean score here doesn't guarantee a trademark office will agree.
