What our research says

BankConv

BankConv does one job well: getting numbers out of bank statement PDFs without retyping them. The pay-per-document option makes it easy to try on a single statement before committing to a subscription.

Pros

  • Recognizes statement formats from over a thousand banks
  • Pay-per-document pricing avoids a subscription for occasional use
  • Exports straight into QuickBooks- and Xero-compatible formats, plus an API for automation

Cons

  • The full paid conversion flow has no persistent free tier beyond limited standalone tools
  • Accuracy on unusual statement layouts is not independently verified here
  • Catnap LLC has little public track record beyond this product

LedgerBox

LedgerBox's flagging of totals that do not reconcile is the detail that separates it from a plain PDF-to-CSV converter, it is built for people who need to trust the extracted numbers, not just have them in a spreadsheet. The page-based pricing means costs scale directly with how much paperwork a firm actually processes.

Pros

  • Cross-checks extracted line items against the document's stated total
  • Unlimited users on every plan, unusual for page-metered pricing
  • API and webhooks included from the Pro tier up for automation

Cons

  • Free trial is capped at only 10 pages, a small sample to judge accuracy on
  • No permanent free tier, only a time-limited trial
  • No mobile app; it is a browser-only workflow plus email forwarding
