What our research says

BankConv

BankConv does one job well: getting numbers out of bank statement PDFs without retyping them. The pay-per-document option makes it easy to try on a single statement before committing to a subscription.

Pros

  • Recognizes statement formats from over a thousand banks
  • Pay-per-document pricing avoids a subscription for occasional use
  • Exports straight into QuickBooks- and Xero-compatible formats, plus an API for automation

Cons

  • The full paid conversion flow has no persistent free tier beyond limited standalone tools
  • Accuracy on unusual statement layouts is not independently verified here
  • Catnap LLC has little public track record beyond this product

Nanonets

The right pick when your bottleneck is genuinely messy paperwork at volume — invoices, POs, bills of lading — and you need audit trails plus an ERP write-back, not a chat window that reads one PDF. If you handle a few dozen documents a month, a general-purpose model does the same job for pennies.

Pros

  • Per-run pricing with no seat licences, so adding reviewers does not raise the bill
  • Credits are pooled across the team and never expire
  • Long connector list: SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Salesforce, Snowflake, plus email and cloud-storage intake
  • Compliance and deployment options (HIPAA, SOC 2, private cloud, US/EU/APAC residency) most IDP startups do not offer

Cons

  • Once the $50 trial credits run out the entry tier is $100/month
  • Classification AI, generative blocks and ERP connectors sit behind the quote-only Growth tier
  • Cost is hard to forecast until you know how many blocks your workflow actually fires
  • Accuracy marketing leans on the vendor's own leaderboard, which is worth retesting on your documents

Which one fits

Choose BankConv if you need

  • Bookkeepers who receive PDF statements from clients across many banks
  • Small accounting firms that want CSV or Excel output for existing software
  • Anyone converting a handful of statements who does not want a subscription

Choose Nanonets if you need

  • Accounts payable teams pushing captured invoice data into SAP, NetSuite or QuickBooks
  • Logistics and trade ops handling bills of lading and customs paperwork
  • Regulated buyers who need HIPAA/SOC 2 plus on-prem or regional data residency
  • Processes that require human approval gates on low-confidence fields
