Use tool ↗About Askee
Askee is a browser extension that lets you highlight text or open a side panel to ask questions about whatever is on screen, whether that's a web page, a YouTube video, a PDF, or a file in Gmail, Notion, or Google Docs and Sheets. Answers link back to the exact passage or video timestamp they came from, and a single conversation can pull from several sources at once. It also reads uploaded documents (PDF, DOCX, CSV, JSON) directly and can take a screenshot of the page to analyze visually. The free plan caps usage at 30 messages a month; the paid plan removes that cap and adds web search.

Pros & cons of Askee
Askee's strength is not needing to copy anything out of the page being read — you highlight and ask right there, and it cites the exact spot the answer came from. The free tier's 30-message monthly cap is tight enough that anyone using it daily will hit the paywall quickly.
Pros
- Citations point to the exact passage or video timestamp the answer came from
- Works across many source types: web pages, YouTube, PDFs, Gmail, Notion, Docs and Sheets
- Can hold multiple sources in a single conversation
- Screenshot analysis handles visual content, not just text
Cons
- Free tier's 30 messages/month cap is low for regular use
- Chrome/Chromium only, with no Firefox or Safari support mentioned
Best for
- Researching long YouTube videos without watching the whole thing
- Asking quick questions about a PDF or Google Doc while reading it
- Comparing information across several open sources at once
Not for
- Non-Chromium browser users, since it is a Chrome extension only
- Heavy daily users who will exceed the free 30-message cap fast
