What our research says

AI Chat

The value proposition of a model aggregator is simple and real: one subscription instead of several, and no tab-switching to compare answers. AI Chat prices itself accordingly at roughly half of a single frontier subscription. What it does not do is tell you who you are buying from — no company name, no jurisdiction, no address anywhere on the site or in the privacy policy, which is a poor footing for a service that will hold your chat history.

Pros

  • Covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Meta models plus an in-house assistant in one interface
  • Text, image, audio and video generation are all included in the single subscription
  • Priced well below stacking separate frontier subscriptions
  • Mobile access alongside the web app, with user management for small teams

Cons

  • No company, legal entity, address or country disclosed anywhere on the site or in the privacy policy
  • No published usage caps or per-model quotas, so throughput is unknown before paying
  • The $14.99 rate is promotional against a $29.99 list price that could return
  • No API and no free tier, only a trial

TypingMind

The right buy if you already pay for API credits and resent a second $20/month subscription per model vendor. Pointless if you only use one model casually, because the raw ChatGPT or Claude app is free and better integrated.

Pros

  • One-time personal licence instead of a recurring fee is genuinely rare in this category
  • Model coverage is broad, including self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoints
  • Teams edition covers SSO, RBAC and audit logs, which most BYOK front ends do not

Cons

  • You pay token costs on top of the licence, so heavy use is not cheaper than a flat subscription
  • Feature parity with vendor apps always lags after a model launch
  • Desktop presence is mostly a browser install rather than a full native app

Which one fits

Choose AI Chat if you need

  • People who currently pay for two or more model subscriptions and want one bill
  • Casual users who want to compare answers across models without separate accounts
  • Anyone who wants text, image, audio and video generation behind a single login

Choose TypingMind if you need

  • Heavy users who want one window across OpenAI, Anthropic and Google keys
  • Teams that need shared prompts and preset keys without giving everyone a seat on each vendor
  • People who want chat history in their own browser or storage rather than a vendor account
