withoutBG strips backgrounds from images using a deep-learning matting model, returned as a transparent PNG or a raw alpha matte for compositing. It ships two ways: a free, Apache-2.0-licensed open model you can run yourself with no image ever leaving your machine, and a hosted Pro model reached through a REST API, a Python package, a Docker container, a macOS app, or a GIMP 3.0 plugin. The Pro API is priced per credit, with one credit processing one image; new accounts get 50 free credits for 30 days, and further credits are bought in packs that get cheaper per image as the pack size grows. The company is supported by NVIDIA Inception and AWS Activate startup programs and runs its cloud API out of Frankfurt, Germany.
